Whisper wind generators from Southwest
Wind Power come with the EZ-Wire System Center, which provides
battery charge control for the wind generator and for a solar
array. An LED meter reads battery voltage, wind amps, solar amps
and load amps.
All models are now rated and named based on the size of the rotor
swept area. For instance, the H20 has 20 square feet of "swept
area". This rating method gives a truer picture of the wind
generator's power production capability. H indicates 3 blades.
(The 3-blade design lasts longer and is more stable in turbulent
wind, but is a little less efficient.)
Whispers are shipped in one voltage
(indicated by bold in the table below), but can be changed by
the user to other indicated voltages. The EZ-Wire system can also
control up to 40 amps of solar modules (80 amps for the Whisper
175). Made in U.S.A. 2-year warranty.
Patented Angle Governor
Exclusive to the
Whisper, the side furling Angle Governor protects the turbine
in high winds by turning the alternator and blades out of the
wind, reducing its exposure. Unlike other wind turbines that lose
as much as 80% of their output when furled, the Angle governor
allows the Whisper to achieve maximum output in any wind.
